Using Wrong Prepositions

The function of a preposition is to indicate the relation of one noun to another noun or to a verb or adjective. That means, a preposition is always followed by a noun (or anything equivalent to a noun) and it may be preceded by a noun, verb or adjective. Mistakes are often made in English by using a wrong preposition after certain nouns, verbs or adjectives. People usually make prepositional mistakes when they are influenced by their mother tongues.
